Now, I know that about a month or so ago, I said that when I were to choose a Shakespearian sonnet, I would just have the title be the number of the sonnet. I mean, I guess I could randomly include the sonnet in with this post, although it is quite irrelevant to the miscellaneousness that will be shared with you today.
For this particular post, 38 is the number of consecutive hours in which I have not slept.
So, for the past... I dunno... 10 hours or so, I have became so giddy and giggly and, although I have never been high nor drunk, I sure as hell felt like I was, or what I assumed it to feel like, anyhow.
I had taken a nap after class on Wednesday and woke up at 4 pm and have not slept since.
Seeing as how I have a paper due within the next 6 days, I decided to attempt working on it, which didn't work out so well. Distraction here, food there, conversations flowing everywhere. There is no where for me to go to fully focus on this dumb piece of crap. So, procrastination kicked in and YouTube, TFLN, FML, and an assortment of other websites distracted me for the next few hours. It got to be around 9 PM when I realized how hungry I was, and not for Easy Mac or Spaghettios. So, I left to go get some deliciousness up at Buffalo Phil's Express at our local cafeteria. It was so cold, and I wish the guy knew I wanted to eat it there, but he still proceeded to place my meal into it's secure Styrofoam box and my drink in it's paper cup, lid, and straw. I concluded that my only choice was to leave the warm building and head back out, into the 30 degree (F) weather and try to keep my food, chicken fingers and amazing curly fries, as warm as possible without my other hand freezing off from holding the thin, sweating cup of Dr. Pepper.
My earmuffs, I must add, are one of the best investments I have made here in college.
Anyway, so I got back to my room, ate, and had this spontaneous urge to work on my paper. So, I Googled a bunch of different phrases that portray the topic of my essay.
Found a few cites... annnnnnnnnnnnd then got sidetracked.
Facebook, reading random blogs, YouTube binges... probably movies on HBO.
Anything to keep me distracted from this paper.
Not that I wanted to procrastinate... it just... consumes me.
SO...
My roomie stays up with me for a while and goes back to sleep since she had a Portuguese test the next day.
She slept for a few hours and came crawling back out to do random shit with me. The sun began to peek over the horizon and she flew to the shower. I didn't HAVE to be anywhere until noon, so I remained in the exact spot I had been since I had woken up about 14 hours before. The shower opened for my use, and I took advantage of that opportunity faster than a cheetah can catch its dinner. I dried off, got dressed, straightened my hair, wished my roommate good luck on here test as she walked out the door, and proceeded to do my make up. I left just after 10 AM so I could give myself time to do what I needed to do.
My first stop was over at Student Services.
I needed to talk to someone about my GI Bill/Study Abroad situation. I found the representative and asked her the questions I needed to ask, and basically got the answers I needed. Let's just say I can pretty much apply for this Study Abroad program to New Zealand.
:)
I had a little pep in my step, so I continued down the road to the Rose Administration Building to turn in my form for a direct deposit into my checking account. I had to fill out a different form for them and It should be ready by next semester. Oh, joy.
After there two visits, I felt a sense of responsibility and accomplishment.
I strode off confidently to work.
I had my iPod with me, blaring Holiday music in my ears and knowing that I'm going to be getting paid soon.
I arrived at Cannon House, where I sat, and sat, and sat, and sat all day, on FaceBook, and refreshing my email waiting for more of my GI Bill questions to be answered. Occasionally, a few people would give me a minute tasks to complete and learn from, but other than that.. It's pretty much all I did.
OH, and I read through almost every one of the links provided to me by one of my professors next semester. His is the only class whose information I can access right now, so I read, or at least skimmed, through almost every link and website built-in to his eLearning. Learning and reading so much in my own free will makes me excited for this class that I will begin come January.
Work ended, and I went off to English. Seeing as how I didn't even bring my laptop with me, there was no way for me to work on my paper, at all.
Soooo.. I sat there and read through a few. Teach saw how bored I was and said I was free to leave whenever.
SO, I met my roomie over at Lloyd where we had CHICK-FIL-A for dinner.
Now, I hadn't eaten ANYTHING since about... 4 AM when I had gotten some chips and water.
And when we got to Chick-Fil-A, it was about 630 ish.
I was so hungry, I got 2 chicken sandwiches (without pickles), fries, and a drink; and I at everything!!!!
It tasted soooooooo good!
My roommate and I hopped on the bus and rode it down to our dorm.
Waiting for the bus however, is when things started happening.
I was getting loud, laughing hysterically at virtually nothing, almost drunk or high sounding (in my mind), to be honest.
So, by the time we were on the bus we were insane.
It was quite difficult to keep a tight leash on our outbursts.
We walked into our dorm and my roomie was saying how that she was so energetic that she really wanted to plat hallball. I wasn't THAT full of energy, so I kinda pushed the idea backa few minutes. She unlocked our door and we sat down with our computers.
We binged a little here, and a little there.
And, then, the craziest thing happened ever, in my entire life.
My roommate said "Ya know.... I think that if I had some kind of ice cream sandwich or something and if you were to play Santana's version of 'Valerie' I could have enough energy to play ball!"
She had me at "ice cream".
I knew that's what I'd wanted... all.... day.
So, I told her that I wanted a certain kind of ice cream and that I wanted to go to this market place in our cafeteria to see if the carried it, (which I discovered that they don't when I arrived there).
The decision was unanimous and we put on our coats and shoes and headed downstairs.
We knew it was going to be cold outside, but once we opened the front door, we found it to be extremely cold. (Of course, I had my ear muffs with me!) I think the sleep deprivation and the coldness got to me, because I swear something shifted in my brain and brought my 7 year old side me out to play. I got all giggly and I couldn't contain my laughter. It was so cold outside that I could see my breath! Silly 7-year-old me turned the idea of making clouds with my breath into the steam from a train! I looked up to sky and started puffing out clouds and telling my roommate that I was a train. She went along with me and I told her to not let me walk across the street when there was a car coming and to not let me walk into people. We walked all the way up the hill with me acting like a seven year old acting like a train and laughing uncontrollably. We went in, grabbed our ice cream selections. She got a triple chocolate drumstick thing, and a Java Monster. I grabbed a smart water and a Butterfinger ice cream bar. We paid for our things and headed back out.
She took the bag and I turned into the train again.
A few steps later she says to me, "HEY! Grab onto my hood and you can be the caboose!" So I did, and a few steps more, I realize out loud, "Wait, the caboose doesn't puff the steam out, the first one does! No fair! You could be my caboose!"
"You don't have a hood..."
"Oh. Poop. Well... I'll just be a lone train then."
"Or, we could be a train put together sideways by some dyslexic dude."
And we proceeded down the hill with me being the train.
By the time we got to the corner to turn on to go to our dorm, I officially started making train sounds. CHOO CHOO! Chugga-chugga chugga-chugga CHOO CHOO!
I was laughing so hard I couldn't walk straight!
We passed by one of the guys from one of the rooms at the end of our hall.
We said hi, walked in, and took the elevator to our room.
I needed something crunchy and salty, and headed back down stairs for some chips.
I went back up, and we devoured our ice cream desserts.
We became super hyper and decided to play our game of hallball after snooping around on facebook.
We played for around 20 minutes and hurried back in to watch this one Spanish movie on HBO.
More and more binges carried on and carried us through cyberspace while the movie played.
I have no idea how we got to this.. but eh... it's funny!
Roommate:
"Life is like a fart. You start out in a secluded environment. You spend your adolescence sheltered by your parents. You live in a rectum. College is a time, a journey which you finally pass through the anus. TUSCALOOSA IS OUR ANUS. When you leave the anus, you can go where you wanna go. You can stink if you wanna stink, be silent but deadly, or politeness be damned of society with your powerful voice and pungent aura."
Later on... I needed to wash my bowl to make Spaghettios in. I smelt a funny smell coming from the sink. I lifted the sponge up and smelled it. The first thing that came to my mind was: WINE!
So, I carried it over to my roomie and said..,
"Is it just me...? Or does this sponge smell like wine? Like, Zin something? Or a red wine?!"
And then, on the way back to the kitchen, I nearly walked face first into the wall.
I put extra soap on the sponge to wash my bowl clean so that I could make myself spaghettios.
And, I just love how I put all of this time, energy, effort, and creativity to write this blog post, but not my essay.
